We protect the equipment of the armed forces
For the people who are "on the front lines" of our safety and well-being every day, properly protecting and packaging materials is crucial.
For the people who are "on the front lines" of our safety and well-being every day, properly protecting and packaging materials is crucial.
Defense personnel continue where others stop. On land, at sea and in the air, they are committed to ensuring the safety, health and well-being of civilians worldwide. High-quality and optimally functioning equipment is indispensable for this. Equipment tools, weapons or components must therefore be well protected against challenging external influences; shock and vibration, dust, water, chemicals and extreme cold and heat. With custom packaging from Faes, you are always prepared for a crisis situation.
We design and develop packaging that is fully tailored to the needs of the Defense organization. No matter how demanding and complex the application. Think robust aluminum cases to store items in an organized way. Plastic cases with integrated electronic equipment, for ‘in the field’. Or flight cases that are configurable and quick to install for each situation. Our packaging consultants understand what is important in your sector. For example, they are aware of standards and certifications such as UN, NEN, ISO and Mil-Spec, but also of tendering processes.
Within Defense, good structure and organization are essential to act adequately in a crisis situation. Because their equipment is often an extension of themselves in this, it is important that they always have it to hand and that it is transported safely and completely. There is suitable packaging for every application in this sector. And if not, we design it!
For the phasing out of F-16s in the Netherlands, Faes developed an impressive custom package for a vertical tail of an F-16 at the request of the Ministry of Defense. Because the aircraft still had 300 flight hours to go and were being completed abroad, it had to be carefully transported in parts.
When you supply products to Defense, it is important to also pay attention to packaging. For applications within Defence, it is logically important that the contents are well protected during transport. The packaging has to endure a lot on the way to its final destination. To exclude risks, a package of requirements is often drawn up by the Ministry of Defense, which asks for a test report or certificate. At Faes we have experience with this, so we ensure that the packaging is designed and delivered in accordance with the requirements of your Defense customer. When we start developing new packaging, we usually start a certification process. The quality of the packaging is then tested based on the requirements and standards, using a test protocol or test plan. You draw up this protocol or plan yourself, but we are happy to help. For example, in the plan we define the acceptance criteria, when is the test successful and when not. You can read more about the testing protocol here.
