A custom package for an F-16 tail at Volkel Air Base
For the phasing out of F-16s in the Netherlands, Faes developed an impressive custom package for a vertical tail of an F-16 at the request of the Ministry of Defense. Because the aircraft still had 300 flight hours to go and were being completed abroad, it had to be carefully transported in parts.
Test protocol for packaging
When you supply products to Defense, it is important to also pay attention to packaging. For applications within Defence, it is logically important that the contents are well protected during transport. The packaging has to endure a lot on the way to its final destination. To exclude risks, a package of requirements is often drawn up by the Ministry of Defense, which asks for a test report or certificate. At Faes we have experience with this, so we ensure that the packaging is designed and delivered in accordance with the requirements of your Defense customer. When we start developing new packaging, we usually start a certification process. The quality of the packaging is then tested based on the requirements and standards, using a test protocol or test plan. You draw up this protocol or plan yourself, but we are happy to help.
