  • Packaging Data Sheet (PDS): describes the exact packaging construction, materials used, dimensions, and protection levels
  • Declaration of Conformity (DoC): confirms that the packaging meets the applicable STANAG or MIL-STD standards
  • Test reports: results of shock, vibration, moisture, and temperature tests in accordance with relevant standards
  • Material certificates: certificates for materials used, such as foam, wood (ISPM-15 for wood), and metal closures
  • Marking and labeling specifications: documentation of NATO Stock Numbers (NSN), hazmat labels, and other required markings
  • Revision history: a log of changes to the packaging design, including date and reason

Additional requirements apply to mission-critical equipment such as communications systems, drones, or optical devices. STANAG standards for packaging

STANAGs (Standardization Agreements) are the binding agreements between NATO member states. The most important ones for packaging are:
