Team Lead Logistics & Services

Interested in working as a hands-on Team Lead at our BIC Logistics Centre?

At Faes, we do more than develop high-quality packaging solutions. From our Logistics Centre at the Brainport Industries Campus (BIC) in Eindhoven, we manage the inbound and outbound flow of goods for the high-tech companies based there.

You will work at our Eindhoven location, where you and a small, close-knit team are responsible for the day-to-day logistics services. At the same time, you will be part of Faes, our family-owned company headquartered in Reusel.

As Team Lead Services, you are the key figure at our location. You work hands-on alongside your team, ensure that logistics processes run smoothly and provide daily leadership to a small team of two to three colleagues. You are the first point of contact on site, maintain a clear overview and actively contribute ideas for the further development of our services and the expansion of our activities at BIC.

Your role

As Team Lead Services, you work hands-on alongside your team and ensure that daily logistics processes run smoothly. Together with your team, you are responsible for:

  • Loading and unloading goods;
  • Registering incoming and outgoing goods using a PDA;
  • Checking goods for quality and quantity;
  • Picking orders using a reach truck;
  • Preparing orders for shipment;
  • Ensuring that the correct transport documentation is completed;
  • Carrying out inventory checks;
  • Delivering goods to customers in the local area when required.

In addition, you lead the team and ensure that daily activities are carried out efficiently. Your responsibilities include:

  • Planning, allocating and coordinating daily activities;
  • Coaching, motivating and supporting your colleagues;
  • Monitoring progress, quality and safety in the workplace;
  • Identifying and resolving bottlenecks in the logistics process;
  • Continuously improving our services and work processes;
  • Contributing ideas to the further development and expansion of our services at BIC, including potential future expansion to BIC 2.

What we are looking for

For this position, we are looking for an enthusiastic and committed team lead who takes responsibility, enjoys working with others and is energised by both leading a team and working hands-on in a dynamic logistics environment.

  • You have experience in logistics;
  • You preferably have experience leading, coaching or supporting a team;
  • You have strong organisational skills and maintain an overview when priorities change;
  • You can work independently and feel responsible for the daily operations at the location;
  • You hold a forklift and reach truck certificate or are willing to obtain these;
  • You hold a valid category B driving licence;
  • You are comfortable working with a scanner or PDA and logistics systems;
  • You are available for 40 hours per week.

Your personal qualities

  • Leadership: You lead the team in a positive way, motivate colleagues and create a pleasant and productive working environment.
  • Planning and organisation: You maintain a clear overview, set the right priorities and ensure that daily logistics activities are carried out efficiently.
  • Coaching skills: You support colleagues in their development, provide constructive feedback and help them perform at their best.
  • Problem-solving skills: You identify bottlenecks, respond quickly when plans change and come up with practical solutions.
  • Customer focus: You understand the customer’s needs and work with the team to provide reliable, high-quality services.

What we offer

You will join a welcoming family-owned company where people come first and where collaboration and commitment are part of our culture. We place great value on a positive working environment and celebrate successes together. We end the week with informal Friday afternoon drinks and enjoy a shared Faes lunch every month.

In addition to a rewarding professional challenge and 140 motivated colleagues who are passionate about their work, you will have plenty of freedom in how you carry out your responsibilities. Your initiatives will be valued and will have a direct impact on the business.

You will also receive a competitive salary, 29 days of annual leave, flexible working hours, a pension scheme, a mobile phone, a laptop and a profit-sharing bonus.

    During an initial consultation, our packaging experts will identify your specific requirements. By discussing the criteria the packaging must meet, they can work with our engineers to develop a concept.
    2
    Concept
    Is standard packaging an option, or is bespoke packaging required? This decision is made in consultation with the consultants and designers
    3

    Based on the concept, you will receive a suitable proposal. Thanks to our short lines of communication, we can easily make adjustments whenever necessary. Are you happy with the advice? If so, we’ll work towards producing a prototype.

    Throughout the process, we present concepts digitally and, where necessary, submit 2D drawings for review. You and your project team members can provide feedback or approve them, ensuring that decisions are clearly documented and the review process runs efficiently.
